muslimwomeninhistory:

One of the most beautiful women I have ever known lost her battle with cancer tonight. She was my friends’ grandmother (and mother to a few of my friends — she comes from a large family), a woman of fierce spirit, who went through so much and yet spent every moment of it smiling. She always made dua for me every time I saw her, and every time I left her house she would make sure my arms were filled with bags of home-cooked samosas or pakoras (even though I never liked pakoras, I could never refuse it from her.) She was an inspiration to my mother, and she treated me like her own grand-daughter.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon. May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala forgive her for any of her shortcomings and mistakes of this world. May He grant her peace. May He raise her amongst those who are righteous, those who are patient, those who are truthful, and those who believe. May He grant her shade on that day when there is no shade but that of His throne. May He grant her entrance into jannah without any judgement. May she dwell therein in the company of all those whom she loves and the company of His most beloved, salallahu ‘alayhi was’salaam, and may He guide and bless us all. Ameen.

Please make dua for her tonight.
