The particularly awful thing is that the news I see here? The ones of racial and sexual attacks, those things don’t show up on the news on TV a few hours after it happens. Those are the things I usually tell my mother about, or she finds out weeks later.

This? This she came up to ask me about, because “it was just on the news and why didn’t you ever say something”? So I looked it up. Apparently the media has no problem promptly reporting on things about oh “Muslims did so-and-so look how violent they are!” when it comes to a few of them even though they distinctly fail to report Muslims getting hurt as a result of the Islamophobia they spread.
