I apologize if that came across as a comparison. The point of it was to highlight the lack of criticism on suppression in Muslim societies as compared to non-Muslim but you're right that it relegates a very complicated issue to a religious crisis. I'm sorry for the carelessness.

With all due respect, I appreciate what you’re trying to do and it’s true that people ignore the Muslims and their problems as opposed to non-Muslims but it isn’t your issue to use that way since with the Burmese, this isn’t the issue at all, not to mention that other than Burmese, when people talk about Burma at all any more, all they talk about is the Muslims. It didn’t used to be that way, yes, people used to only talk about the Kachin and Karen but for some reason now everyone’s forgotten them. It feels a bit like people who take up on an issue for a while like a trend then drop it for another when they get bored of it.

It isn’t, and never will be, the issue of the Kachin/Karen or that of the Rohingya. They are one and the same and it doesn’t help when people tell only half the story.

Edit: The Kachin/Karen never got much coverage to begin with either, actually. And now that people talk about the Rohingya and say how no one’s covering it they themselves twist the issue around and focus on all the wrong issues and it’s just sickening. All of us Burmese deserve better than that.
