Muhammad Saad Iqbal Madni, a former Guantanamo Bay detainee, breaks down in tears as he discusses his treatment in Guantanamo and the effects of his imprisonment on his current life.
“Since they arrest me from 9th January up to now today, every second night I have night mares and in the middle of the night I wake up screaming, yelling and crying. Even no one can do that with the animals, I don’t know how they manage, how they can do that with human beings?” he exclaims tearfully.
“The Americans destroyed our entire lives.”
Madni was tortured by interrogators for six years, being subject specifically to electric shocks, beatings, drugging, and being locked in a cell so small he could not sit up or lie down. As a consequence of the electric shocks to his head, Madni developed a life threatening bone infection which the interrogators refused to treat until he “cooperated” and “confessed” to their accusations.
He was released in 2008 after six years of imprisonment and torture at the hands of the United States military without any charges against him.
Omg..
God bless you…my prayers are with you..
