I want nothing to do with a sex positivity movement that enshrines the kind of kyriachal ideals that already permeate our society.

If your sex positivity does not include honoring muslim women who choose the wear a head covering it is bullshit.

If your sex positivity does not include fat people when society already desexualizes fat bodies it is bullshit.

If your sex positivity movement does not respect the choices of those who choose to sleep with one person as well as those who choose to sleep with more, it is bullshit.

If your sex positivity movement does not include respecting the bodies of trans people, especially trans women, it is bullshit.

If your sex positivity movement does not involve acknowledging asexual people and not immediately conflating it with ‘slut-shaming’, it is bullshit.

If your sex positivity has no interest in hearing the voices of WOC or acknowledging how the patriarchy affects them in a different way to white women, it is bullshit.

If your sex positivity is primarily focussed on uplifting white cis women, it is bullshit.

I am tired of the patriarchy masquerading as feminism. I am tired of a feminism that serves only those who need it least. I refuse to be told that I must admire the Laci Greens and Dan Savages of the world even though they work actively against me. I will not be told to be happy with these people, when they continue to insert themselves in positions of power and use these positions to make their voices louder than those they are privileged against. I am especially tired of being told I must forgive them, when they use their positions to further bigotry against those they are privileged against.

This is NOT a Laci Green positive blog. This is NOT going to be a blog that idolizes the Slut Marches and ignores the racism and the way the word ‘slut’ affects people other than white middle class women. This is NOT going to be a blog that believes in ‘forgive and forget’ when it comes to people misgendering trans women. This is NOT going to be a blog that honors the shady bullshit and cloak-and-dagger style activism of privileged people against their victims.

For my trans siblings, for the POC community, for the fat community, for the ace community, for anybody who is being underserved or actively discriminated against by the white, cis, middle class, pseudo-acedemic circle-jerk that is mainstream feminism, I will not allow the kind of thinly concealed bigotry masquerading as activism to go unchecked.
