The Mind Is Limitless

Salaam to you, it means 'peace'! This is a personal blog and holds the unceasing ramblings of a musing girl, welcome. Reblogs are not necessarily in agreement of the idea/opinion. Expect angry rants and commentary on social justice, but keep in mind that this is not a social justice blog. I blog about issues because I care about them. I write, bad poetry and prose, if you read them it will make my day. Make yourself at home. Come talk. I'll listen.

When boys stop treating their wives like servants, live sex dolls or punching bags then they will become men. Not much pisses me off (I hate being angry) but someone claiming to be a Muslim man then turning around and treating his wife like a servant is one thing I can’t stand. I grew up in a house where my father respected my mom and vice versa then when my dad passed I was shown a different world of marriage. My step father was the complete opposite.

If you claim to follow the Prophet then do it completely. He did chores around the house, and he respected his wives and their opinions. He didn’t beat them, he did not yell at them, he did not use the Qur’an to point out his superiority, he did not lie to them or cheat on them, he didn’t turn away from them as they aged and their bodies changed, he did not stay out all night or complain when they cooked something he didn’t like.

How can you dare to call yourself a Muslim, claim that you are a student of knowledge or preach to anyone else about Islam if you can’t apply any of what you say to yourself and your marriage? Islam is about equality, the woman is not beneath you. She stands beside you and completes your deen. Without her where would be be?

No where because men can not reproduce. Allah has blessed you with a spouse not cursed you with a burden or given you a slave for your pleasure and servitude. If you want respect then give it.

If my sisters ever told me that their husband raised a hand to them or verbally abused them I wouldn’t hesitate to bring them home and then commence to whoop his ass.

That’s a joke, but it would really happen.

This. Omg.

The last part haha.

I’ve seen both sides. My father treated my mother with utmost respect and she did the same. They joked around with each other. They had their arguments, but what couple doesn’t. While my mother was lying on a hospital bed, living her last few days, he was there, every. single. day.

And I’ve seen men who treat their wives as if they’re just slaves who are there to do whatever they bid.

It’s disgusting.

Please do yourself a favor and read this. I really and truly wish more brothers thought like this. ^^^^
