Like a candle’s flame,
extinguished with a
stray gust of wind.
The spring in a pen,
bouncing out as the
pressure’s released.
Lightening lashing out
on rainy nights, FLASH!
and then darkness again.
That’s how life ends.
(Abruptly)
The room becomes
dark
(suddenly)
and you’re plunged into
emptiness.
(She cracks open
the shell of the pistachio
nuts- CRACK!
She eats it)
There is nothing left.
